Our Favorite Vegetable Filled Recipes

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. We all just want to do what is best for our families. The hard part is figuring out what that is exactly. I love to watch documentaries and research especially when it comes to ways to keep my family healthy. There are so many opinions on how to achieve health. Yet they all seem to agree in one area, we need to eat more vegetables! Last year after watching What The Health on Netflix, I decided we were going to focus more on vegetables. I cut out as much meat, dairy, and sugar as I could and starting feeding our family a plant based diet. Our new way of eating was going great! For 5 months we followed through on this new way of eating, [...]

Activities For Kids: While You Get Things Done

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. Getting things done can be difficult especially when you have a child hanging on your leg crying. I feel bad if I just let my daughter cry begging for some TLC. Not to say I don’t let her cry for a bit but I do my best to get her up off the floor and into my arms as quickly as possible. While it doesn’t always work I have learned the best way to keep her from hanging on my leg is to give her something to do with or near me. Here are a couple of my go to activities for her while I get things done. Let Them Help Give your child a part to play in what you're doing. Laundry If you’re [...]

Emergency Car Kit

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. Having a kit in my car of things we may need in a messy kind of emergency is something I never go without! When LiLi was two weeks old Nate and I took her to her second doctor's appointment. While we were there she spit up quite a bit so we changed her into her spare outfit we had in the diaper bag. Then we started the 20 minute drive home. We weren't even 5 minutes in when I noticed she had a dirty diaper. Obviously we didn’t want her to sit in a dirty diaper the whole way home so we pulled over to change her quick. When I took her out of her car seat I realized this wouldn't be as quick as I [...]

Simple Playroom Ideas to Make The Best Playroom

This post may contain affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. When it comes to your child’s playroom the idea should be to spark their imagination. Imaginative play builds a child’s self-esteem, cognitive thinking, problem-solving skills, creativity and empathy. Toys these days no longer encourage imaginative play like they used to. To set your children up for a successful life you should encourage imaginative play. One of the best ways to do so is by giving them a space with tools for discovery. To help do so I have come up with a list of playrooms kids will love to get creative in! Let me encourage you to choose 3 or 4 of these ideas together. Try to create a room that becomes a house or small town for your children. Maybe even just give the bare minimum [...]

11 Unbelievable Things I Do As a Mom

Tonight inspired me to write something a little different. I’m going to share 11 unbelievable things I do as a mom. These are all things no one told me I might do someday. Possibly because they were embarrassed by these actions or maybe I just really am the only one. Either way I want to share them with you so if you end up doing the same you know you’re not alone. Or maybe you’ll just laugh with me! Accept the vomit. I’m starting with the one that happened tonight. My sweet baby girl was playing with her daddy when our 100 lb. Labrador knocked her down. I ran out from the bathroom, where I was blow-drying my freshly washed hair, and held her close. The inevitable was upon us. When my little girl cries hard it always leads to [...]

Save Time and Money: Freezing Produce

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. Freezing fresh fruits and veggies will save you a lot of time and money! All too often I go to make dinner only to realize the produce has already gone bad. I create weekly meals plans and grocery shop once a week. Planning what we will eat has helped cut down our spending and eat healthier. However, shopping for a weeks’ worth of food means the produce goes bad before it’s time for those meals. Therefore I started experimenting with freezing the produce that went bad. By freezing these foods I am able to stock up when they are in season and on sale! This makes my savings go up enormously! Plus I have healthy food in the freezer I can pull out all year [...]

How We Removed Clutter and Got Organized

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. When Nathan and I met we each had a house of our own that was full to the brim. After we married we just threw all of this clutter into our new house. All three bedrooms and their closets were filled with must haves. The kitchen had lots of cabinet space which was overflowing with might needs. Plus our large TV cabinet had plenty of video games and movies so we were never bored. A few items were thrown out and I hosted a small garage sale but we mainly just found a place for these items we weren’t ready to part with. This caused us to live in organized clutter. After finding out we were pregnant we moved into my parent’s 900 square foot [...]

10 Quick and Easy Toddler Meals

Some of the links in this post are affiliate links. Please read our disclosure for more info. Judge your toddler’s eating by the week not the day. WHAT!? My daughter's doctor gave me this advice at her 18 month check-up. I was starting to worry because she would eat something at one meal and not like it the next. I was worried she wasn't getting enough to eat. That's when my doctor told me to judge my daughters eating by the week and not the day. When I started to look at it that way I was able to realize just how good of an eater my daughter was.   The doctor reminded me how a baby is constantly changing. Teething, schedules, weather, new stimulation, and plenty of other aspects of her day can cause her eating habits to change. With all [...]
